Adhikar
facilitating government schemes
project initiated in 2023
77,984 people | 42 welfare schemes | 118 villages
The Adhikar project supports communities by enabling access to both online and offline government schemes. Located in hilly and forested regions with limited network availability and digital connectivity, these villages often face challenges in accessing information and completing applications for welfare programs.
Community service centres, which provide access to such services, are often situated at a considerable distance from these villages. Most residents depend on farming or daily-wage labour, and travelling to a centre often results in losing a day’s income in addition to travel and application expenses. Limited knowledge about these schemes further complicates the process of application.
The project goes beyond supporting registrations by facilitating laminated cards directly to beneficiaries. Beneficiaries are also guided on their usage, ensuring easy and reliable access to their entitlements. This approach reduces dependence on intermediaries, minimises repeated travel and empowers individuals to independently access and seek benefit from government services.
